Our Courses
Our Courses
At Sandra Hilleard Academy, we provide affordable, high quality, online education in the fields of personal and professional development. Our courses are accessible from anywhere in the world. We want to make it easier for people to learn the skills they need to succeed! There are different types of courses to suit different learning styles. Here are the main features of the different types.
Online On-Demand Courses
The on-demand courses are ideal for people who cannot commit to certain times, due to other commitments. You can study in your own time and follow the lectures and presentations whenever it suits you. Activities in these courses are designed for this type of learning. If you have any questions regarding the content or you require additional assistance, there are two options.
- You can message the instructor directly with your questions; or
- You can use the online discussion board to pose a question to your group
Since you can work at your own pace, you can finish the course early. In some cases, there is a designated time-frame in which you have to complete the course. When a time-frame applies to your course, it will be listed in the course description.
Instructors will endeavour to answer your questions as soon as possible. Please remember that you may be in a different time-zone than your instructor and that they will have to answer multiple questions from different students. We understand that this can be an issue, if you want to progress through your course at a fast pace. If your instructor hasn’t replied in 48 hours, please send them a reminder!
Your certificate or statement of attainment will be automatically issued, once you successfully completed the course. You can download the certificate via your profile menu.
These courses are affordable and convenient!
Live Online Courses
The live online courses are intended for people who prefer more personal guidance from their instructor(s) or, where a specific assessment requires live interaction.
These courses have a Zoom component, where the instructor will be giving Lectures via Zoom (a live video link) at certain set times. It is important to check the course schedule, if the times of the live classes will suit your schedule.
During these courses, you can ask your instructor direct questions. The live classes, and discussions may be recorded for quality assurance and marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be recorded during class, please let your instructor know, we respect your privacy.
Where a live video assessment is required, you will need to be recorded for assessment purposes. For example: If you are being assessed on organising an online meeting, or giving a presentation. Please check the course description for the assessment requirements, before enrolling in the course.
During the course you can:
- Ask questions directly during Zoom Sessions
- Ask questions and connect with fellow students online via discussion board
- Email your questions to your instructor
These courses are generally higher in price as the instructor(s) will spend more quality time with you via Zoom.
Course Levels
There will be different course levels that indicate the level of difficulty, ranging from 1 to 6, where levels 1-2 are basic, levels 3-4 are intermediate, and levels 5-6 are advanced. In some cases, you are required to complete a previous level before you can enrol in the next level.
Recognised Certificate
Our courses will not provide you with an Australian Nationally recognised certificate!
However, some of our assessments could be used as evidence in Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for some course providers in Australia. RPL only applies if the assessment provides sufficient evidence of knowledge, skills that is required under the national standards for that unit of competency. Some of our assessments may meet those criteria, while others may not.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows you to provide evidence to a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation of the knowledge and skills that are required for a Nationally Recognised Certificate or a specific unit of competency. If you can demonstrate with sufficient evidence, you already possess the correct knowledge and skills for that unit of competency, you do not have to repeat that part of the course, because you can prove you are competent!
If you would like to claim RPL based on the evidence of having completed one of our courses, you will need to contact a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation and follow their RPL procedures. We cannot and will not guarantee that your Nationally Recognised Training Organisation will accept the evidence as each follows their own RPL process and procedure.

Educational Events
The event calendar will list educational events. Many events can be attended online via Zoom. Some may have a physical location for people to attend.
To avoid confusion, online events are listed in your local time.
